Nubuck leather care: this must be taken into account

As with any other leather, nubuck leather is extremely difficult to care for. We’ll show you how to properly handle the delicate material.

Like suede, nubuck leather is a fine suede. Its velvety soft surface is characterized by the slightly sanded grain side – the material is therefore particularly breathable, but also more sensitive to UV radiation. It is all the more important to regularly care for the leather and to clean it properly. We’ll show you how this works without damaging the surface.
The best cleaning tips for nubuck leather
- Tip 1: The degree of soiling plays a decisive role in cleaning: If the nubuck leather is just a little dusty, the surface should be covered with a special suede brush edited carefully. So that Impregnation spray can penetrate the fibers and achieve its optimal effect, it must be applied to the shoes or the garment before other care products are used.
You should proceed as follows:
- Take the Leather brush in your hand and loosen the fibers by brushing lightly.
- Impregnate the nubuck leather as stated on the packaging instructions.
- Repeat the first step again.
- Then use a liquid care product especially for nubuck.
- Let the leather dry and then repeat the first step.
