Walkers discover a cloth with an umbilical cord on a street. The alerted police then make a discovery on a nearby school site.

The Police found a newborn baby on a school site in Bielefeld on Saturday. The public prosecutor’s office and Bielefeld police announced on Saturday that the child’s life was in danger. The police had no new information about the girl’s health on Sunday.

According to a statement from the police and public prosecutor’s office, a walker alerted the fire department on Saturday morning after finding a cloth with an umbilical cord on a street. The police then discovered the newborn in the area where the cloth was found. The emergency services began resuscitating the baby, which the rescue workers continued shortly afterwards. The child was then taken to a hospital.

There was still no information about the baby’s mother on Sunday. It is also unclear how the girl got to where she was found, a police spokesman said. A murder squad was set up.
