A newborn child was found in Bielefeld on Saturday morning. The police do not yet have any information about the mother

Police found a newborn on a Saturday morning School grounds found in Bielefeld. The child’s life is in danger, the public prosecutor’s office and police said. The officers began resuscitation of the infant, which the rescue workers continued shortly afterwards. The baby was taken to a hospital. The police headquarters in Bielefeld set up a murder squad.

A walker had previously found a cloth with an umbilical cord on a street in the Brackwede district and called the fire department. The police then searched the area around where the cloth was found and discovered the newborn. There is no information about the mother yet, the statement said. How old the child exactly is was not initially known. The investigation is ongoing.
