In the district of Mettmann, a mechanic had an accident with a Ferrari. Bitter: The accident happened on the test drive after a repair.

All work in vain: A 65-year-old vehicle fitter crashed a Ferrari F355 GTS into a tree during a control drive immediately after the repair. Fortunately, the man was only slightly injured, the silver sports car is scrap.

As reported by the police, the accident happened on Tuesday in Langenfeld in the Mettmann district in North Rhine-Westphalia. During the test drive after a repair, the fitter came off the road near a glider airport for reasons that are still unclear and crashed into a tree. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, and the more than 20-year-old luxury sports car was left behind as a wreck. According to officials, the Ferrari had a market value of around 100,000 euros. The police report speaks of a total loss according to initial estimates. Whether the sports car can still be restored remains open.

Netherlands: Ferrari worth millions scrapped

Hard to believe, but compared to a similar incident in the Netherlands, the damage in this case is still very limited. There, in Baarn, not far from Amsterdam, a mechanic with a Ferrari left the road and crashed into a tree about a month ago. The man was released by rescue workers after a brief examination at the scene. In this case, too, the Ferrari remained completely demolished, as the photos in the gallery show.

The salvage dragged on and presumably the people from the towing service even handled the wreck with kid gloves. Because in the Dutch case it was a Ferrari Enzo. Only 400 of them were built and the rarity is not available for less than three million euros.

The man in Langenfeld (or his insurance company) got off comparatively cheaply.
