Engelskirchen is one of seven Deutsche Post DHL branches specifically for Christmas mail. Children can also write to Santa Claus in Himmelpfort or St. Nicholas in Nikolausdorf.

Six weeks before Christmas, the Christmas child post office of Deutsche Post DHL is in Angel churches opened their doors. On Monday, 25 children from a local kindergarten were able to personally hand over their wish lists to the Christ Child. In addition to toys or sweets, for example, they also wanted a “white Christmas”.

There are already many wish lists piling up in the post office, and according to the post office, around 9,000 letters have already been received in advance. Together with 19 helpers, the Christ child answers all letters with wishes from all over the world until December 20th. Last year there were almost 135,000 letters from 48 countries, and the post office is expecting similar numbers again this year.
