On May 1st, a man at the bus station in Lüdenscheid was shot and fatally injured and later died. The alleged perpetrator has now been arrested.

After the violent death of a 24-year-old in Lüdenscheid, the 23-year-old suspect was taken into custody. He is strongly suspected of having fired a fatal shot at the 24-year-old last Monday. The man turned himself in on Thursday evening and was provisionally arrested.

The 23-year-old was previously wanted. He finally turned up at the police station, accompanied by his lawyer. The alleged perpetrator is said to have shot his victim on an escalator at the bus station. Both men are Syrians and have known each other.

The 24-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries after being shot and later died in hospital. A homicide commission took over the investigation into the act in the Märkischer Kreis.

Initially, two 15 and 18-year-olds were arrested, but the suspicion against them had not been substantiated.
