So far, only iOS users have been able to access the eraser function of the WhatsApp messenger service. This feature will soon be available to Android users as well.

Depending on which mobile phone you use, the functions of WhatsApp change. The messenger is always the same in its basic function. However, there are differences between WhatsApp for Android phones and the app on iPhone. In the current beta version of the Android version, new functions have appeared that have been available in the iOS version for some time. In addition to more selection of brushes, there is also an eraser.

To access the eraser, first tap the pencil icon. The screen of the smartphone can then be swiped with varying degrees of intensity in order to make parts of the photo or video unrecognizable. This is reported by the blog Wabetainfo. For example, license plates, telephone numbers or addresses can simply be erased.

WhatsApp users who own a Samsung, Xiaomi or Sony cell phone do not have this option yet. This is about to change soon.

Previously, a separate app had to be used

As the blog Wabetainfo further reports, this function is currently being sent to testers of the beta version. It should therefore not be long before the final variant arrives as an update for all users. WhatsApp has not yet announced when the eraser will be available to all users.
