Novel “The Transformed” by Ulrike Draesner – Culture

What has passed is not over; and the less so, the more one is silent about it. This is the premise of Ulrike Draesner’s novel “Die Verwandten” – the third by the author, in which she turns to the world war and its consequences. The book begins with the lawyer Kinga, a specialist in inheritance law. She is no longer very young and her heart and soul is devoted to her adoptive daughter Flummy, a girl from the South Seas whom she adopted late as a daughter.
