Novak Djokovic beats Andrey Rublev to advance to Turin Masters semi-finals

Imperial in service, Novak Djokovic largely dominated the Russian Andrey Rublev this Wednesday for the second match of the red group at the Turin Masters (6-4, 6-1). Thanks to this second success, he qualified for the 11th time in his career in the semi-finals of this competition.

The Serb, semi-finalist last year, directly set the tone in this meeting. More solid and relaxed in his game, the former world number 1 gradually increased the pace and put his opponent of the day under pressure. Neck and neck at the start of the first set, Novak Djokovic managed to take the advantage over Andrey Rublev thanks to powerful services (12 aces). Troubled, the latter did not find a solution and let this first set slip away in favor of the Serb.

Determined, Novak Djokovic was unstoppable in this second set, while the helpless Russian continued to sink and be manhandled. Broken from the start (3-0), the 25-year-old still managed to win a game, but author of numerous faults, Andrey Rublev did not manage to come back on the Serb, who imposed in just 1h08 of play.

Other opponents in this red group, the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas will face Daniil Medvedev, this Wednesday at 9 p.m.
