Northern firefighter doctor kicked out for stealing vaccine doses

This Wednesday, the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (Sdis) of the North declared that a volunteer firefighter, a doctor by profession, had just seen his commitment terminated. The respondent was caught stealing doses of coronavirus vaccine.

The facts date back to last spring. Firefighters from the North had been deployed as reinforcements in many vaccination centers in the department, in particular the one installed at the Kursaal in Dunkirk. This is where a volunteer firefighter doctor was confused when he had just “diverted two doses of vaccine against Covid-19 to use it outside the official system”, says the SDIS. According to the institution, the respondent had explained that he intended to use these two doses to “vaccinate third parties”.

For the fire brigade, the “unacceptable behavior of this doctor”, his lack of “loyalty and probity” are aggravated by the health context of the time, when the “population had difficulty getting vaccinated”. The volunteer was therefore sanctioned by the termination of his engagement. It is unclear whether any criminal charges have been brought against him.
