North Sea – rocket launch site more specifically – economy

The construction of a rocket launch site in the North Sea is becoming more concrete.

On Monday, several European rocket manufacturers will sign cooperation agreements with the German Offshore Spaceport Alliance planning consortium in Berlin. As can be seen from an invitation from the industry association BDI, Federal Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU) will also speak there. According to reports, however, there will be no commitment from him as far as the financing is concerned. The effort for a launch site in the North Sea “is an important initiative”, now there is an interim result, according to the ministry only. The initiators are trying not to turn the project into a German solo effort. In addition to RFA Augsburg and Hyimpulse, the manufacturers are said to be two companies from other European countries.
