More than 100 kilometers from home: Police stop 13 and 14 year olds on the highway

The police had an unusual operation on Autobahn 3 in North Rhine-Westphalia

It is not yet clear how the two teenagers got the keys to the car. But they were only stopped on the highway 100 kilometers from their hometown.

A 13-year-old and a 14-year-old were pulled out of traffic in North Rhine-Westphalia after driving on the motorway more than a hundred kilometers from their hometown. The two were noticed on Autobahn 3 due to their unsafe driving style and several near misses, as the police in Duisburg announced on Tuesday. During their subsequent journey through Duisburg, several Cars damaged.

It’s unclear how the boys got to the car

It was not initially known how the boys got the car. They were already missing in their hometown of Versmold in the Gütersloh district. According to police, there is a suspicion that the key to the car was stolen in October. The car was impounded after the traffic stop on Tuesday. The investigation was ongoing.
