A fire broke out on a car ferry off the Swedish coast with around 300 people on board. According to the shipping authority, the source was a refrigerated container on the car deck.
The fire is now under control, officials said. There is smoke but no open flames. The ferry does not have to be evacuated. But you are ready for it. A spokeswoman for the Swedish sea rescue center told the TT news agency that there were no reports of injuries.
The “Stena Scandica” is located off the island of Gotska Sandön, north of Gotland. According to TT, ships and helicopters were sent to help.
