The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has discovered that a North Korean hacking group – the Lazarus Group – has sold millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrencies through a series of attacks in recent years.
The FBI issued a statement to notify the company. cryptocurrency Aware of potential movements that Lazarus (APT38) is about to do. North Korean hackers cantransfer 1,580 accumulated BTC (made up of mass thefts in the past) to six different wallet addresses, which the FBI thinks is a sign of a future sale of those assets. “Private agencies The blockchain information associated with these wallet addresses should be checked. and caution to prevent transactions either directly from or originating from these wallet addresses,” the FBI warned.
Lazarus has been linked to several crypto heists over the past few years. This includes one of the biggest heists in the industry: The $600 Million Ronin Bridge Attack The FBI has confirmed that the group is also behind the $60 million theft of cryptocurrencies from Alphapo in June this year and the 2022 Harmony’s Horizon attack that resulted in a $100 million loss.
