North Korea fires two cruise missiles from submarine

The government-run KCNA news agency said the operation was supervised by Kim Jong Un.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the test firing of two cruise missiles launched from a submarine, state news agency KCNA said on Monday, amid growing tensions between Seoul and Pyongyang.

“The cruise missiles flew into the sky over the East Sea… to hit the island target” Sunday, KCNA reported. The South Korean military said earlier Sunday that it had detected cruise missiles fired near the waters of the North Korean city of Sinpo.
