The sequel to “Nord Nord Mord” has been awaited for a long time, and it happened on Monday evening “Sievers and the dream of flying” then so far. Around eight and a half million people saw the new ZDF episode – ratings at “Tatort” level.

A corpse lies on the beach in the very north of the holiday island of Sylt. He is a young Spaniard who was one of the kitesurfers who let kites pull them across the water in the sea. When ex-professional and trainer Tom was questioned about this, he allegedly did not know the victim. Shortly afterwards, Tom is attacked from behind in his mobile home, but is able to free himself – only to also lie dead on the beach a short time later. In the 22nd episode of the crime series “Nord Nord Mord”, Inspector Carl Sievers has to do two Solve murders. “Sievers and the Dream of Flying” became a ratings hit for ZDF on Monday evening. Around eight and a half million people saw the new episode, meaning the crime series can compete with “Tatort” in terms of numbers. According to “DWDL”, the market share among the total audience was 30.7 percent. The sequel follows on from the success of the previous films in January and February of this year, which were watched by nine and nine and a half million people respectively.

New “Nord Nord Mord” episode: A dubious murder and confusing feelings

In the new film, Tom’s kiteboarding student Lena is particularly shocked by the murder. Because she had an affair with Tom and wanted to run away with him and leave her partner behind. No wonder that the Sylt investigators are having difficulty shedding light on the confusion surrounding this case. Hinnerk Feldmann finally wants to make his dream of flying come true and attends a surfing course with kite instructor Mats. He used to have his eye on Inspector Ina Behrendsen – which in turn makes Feldmann jealous.

Basically, Sievers can’t do much more than puzzle things out loud – he’s also plagued by jealousy, as he observes his beloved Tabea Krawinkel with another man, to which she unexpectedly reacts in a refreshing way.

In this crime thriller, director Alex Schaad shows several people who are unhappy in love, and it doesn’t seem to end well for any of them. The solution to the case, which has been tinkered with by three screenwriters, will certainly come to some viewers sooner and more easily than the investigative team. They are mostly concerned with their own sensitivities and behave surprisingly stupidly for the most part.

So we can only hope that the two inspectors and their colleague will quickly get back together and sort out their various emotional confusions. So that in the next case – “Sievers and the five question marks” can be properly investigated again. Viewers will see whether the ratings will be so outstanding again on January 8, 2024 at 8:15 p.m. on ZDF.

“Sievers and the dream of flying” is available to stream in the ZDF media library.
