An internationally wanted cop killer has gotten lost in the tranquil town of Schwanitz and turns up in Jule Christiansen’s veterinary practice, of all places. Hauke Jacobs shares a common past with her.

Two women vie for the favor of Hauke Jacobs (Hinnerk Schönemann) in “Nord bei Nordwest”, who, however, cannot make up his mind. Also because he can not allow feelings.

The new episode “Natalja” provides information about why he is so closed. Because the eponymous woman is the former love of the policeman and veterinarian. In one of his few open moments, Jacobs talks about his past: “We even wanted to move in together, but then something came up: Natalya died.”

“Nord bei Nordwest”: A journey into Hauke Jacobs’ past

She is said to have died while on an assignment abroad. But that can’t be true: because she unexpectedly turns up at Jule Christiansen’s (Marleen Lohse) veterinary practice. She is also the reason why a man from the BKA and a woman from the Russian secret service came to the tranquil little town by the sea.

When she was arrested, Natalja asked Hauke Jacobs to take care of their son. That’s a message. Not only for the coveted bachelor – the viewer also has to come to terms with the fact that there is a third woman in Jacobs’ life and that he also has a child. Or not?

Paternity is clarified over the course of the 90 minutes, as is the real reason why the visitor to Schwanitz was targeted by international investigative authorities. In addition, there is still time for the typical black humor that characterizes the crime series. Jacobs reports to his colleague Hannah Wagner (Jana Klinge) that an important witness is “not available for questioning at the moment. He has other things on his mind.” “And what?” the inspector wants to know. Jacobs’ dry answer: “A 9-millimeter bullet.”

So in this episode almost everyone gets their money’s worth. Only the romance is a bit short this time – but the viewers are compensated with insights into Hauke Jacobs’ past. If the crime series continues in a year’s time, you will be able to better understand the veterinarian and the policeman.
