No frills, but an enormous battery life: Nokia is relaunching its classic 6310 mobile phone

The camera has just 0.3 pixels and cannot connect to the LTE network. But if you just want to make a phone call, the new, old Nokia phone should be attractive.
The classic cell phone is not only seemingly indestructible in the literal sense: That Nokia 6310 is back. The device, which for many people was the very first mobile phone at the turn of the millennium, is coming back on the market – slightly modernized. However, the new edition has not become a smartphone at all. According to the manufacturer, the phone offers, among other things, a “week-long” battery life, a 2.8-inch screen and larger buttons for an inexpensive 59.90 euros. Nokia also introduces new and enlarged menus and larger font options.
The small phone with its polycarbonate casing can also do multimedia – at least from a retro perspective. An integrated FM radio or the MP3 player can provide entertainment as well as the popular game “Snake”. A camera is also there – with a modest 0.3 megapixel resolution. There is a slot for a microSD card with up to 32 gigabytes. The internal memory is eight megabytes in size.
Nokia offers few frills, but long battery life
The newly launched classic cannot do LTE. That’s why this is Retro Nokia Not an unreserved recommendation for travelers: Switzerland, for example, began to take the GSM network, on which the Nokia device relies, out of service as early as 2020, and many networks in the USA are also out of service. Other countries are likely to follow suit. In Germany there is so far no definite date for a shutdown of the GSM network.
But there is one big plus: Nokia puts the battery life in standby mode at up to 22 days and the pure talk time at up to 19 hours. The battery with a capacity of 1150 mAh is removable. The retro telephone is available in black, yellow, turquoise and dark green, among others.
