In a new book, allegations are made against members of the British royal family – without naming names. However, they are mentioned explicitly in the Dutch version. That causes a stir.

The author of the book “Endgame” about the British royals, which was withdrawn in the Netherlands, Omid Scobie, denies responsibility for mentioning the names of two members of the Royal family in connection with allegations. “I never submitted a book with their names in it,” Scobie told British broadcaster ITV.

Prince Harry (39) and his wife Duchess Meghan (42) accused members of the royal family of speculating about the skin color of their unborn children after they left the royal inner circle. Harry insisted that, contrary to some reports, these were not allegations of racism, but rather of “unconscious prejudice.” Nevertheless, the criticism made waves and prompted Harry’s brother Prince William (41) to angrily declare that his family was “not racist at all.”

Two names were explicitly mentioned

Who exactly the allegations were directed against has been the subject of speculation ever since. However, in the Dutch version of the Scobie book, two names were explicitly mentioned. The translation was then withdrawn.

Author Scobie couldn’t explain what exactly had happened. He was “just as frustrated as everyone else.” The names were not only known to him, but also to other journalists, he emphasized.

Scobie also denied allegations of being Harry and Meghan’s “mouthpiece.” “I’m not her friend,” he said. He never met with Meghan privately for interviews and never exchanged information with her.
