The theme song for James Bond is a great honor and always a very special challenge. The Duran-Duran singer gives Billie Eilish top marks.

Simon Le Bon, singer of the British pop group Duran Duran (“The Wild Boys”), is enthusiastic about Billie Eilish’s theme song for the current James Bond film “No Time to Die”.

“I think it’s fabulous,” enthused the 62-year-old in an interview with the German Press Agency about the song that the US singer wrote together with her brother Finneas and the German film composer Hans Zimmer. “I think it’s one of the best, a really good song,” said Le Bon. “He’s pervaded by that subliminal gloom that makes a good James Bond subject.”

Le Bon knows its way around. With Duran Duran, he contributed the title song “A View To A Kill” in 1985 to Roger Moore’s last James Bond film (“In the Face of Death”), which the band had composed with John Barry. When asked if he’d like to do another 007 song with Duran Duran, Le Bon jokingly said to Bond producer Barbara Broccoli: “Yes, Babara. Call us. We are ready and already waiting. “

Recently, Duran Duran, who recently celebrated their 40th anniversary, released their 15th studio album. On “Future Past” the band from Birmingham collaborates with disco veteran Giorgio Moroder, star producer Mark Ronson and Swedish singer Tove Lo, among others.
