no need to do a third dose if you have two injections and an infection

France lifted some of the restrictions on Wednesday, and the vaccine pass was also relaxed. This was announced by Olivier Véran, guest in the evening on BFMTV.

The Minister of Health has reported a change in the rules for obtaining and duration of this precious sesame.

“Scientists tell us that to benefit from the pass, we must have been exposed at least three times, that our immune system has been targeted at least three times,” he said. “This stimulation can be an injection or an infection”, of which “at least you must have received a dose of vaccine”.

Clearly, if you have your three doses, two doses and an infection, or even an injection and two infections, you can get your pass. And the benefit of it will be “unlimited”. A significant change, even though the government had recently reduced the validity of the vaccination pass after an infection from 6 to 4 months.

But people who have had only one dose of vaccine and a single infection must absolutely receive a second dose within four months after the previous exposure to the virus, detailed the minister. In theory, they could also seek to be infected (and therefore have a total of three exposures to the virus) but this involves a health risk for the person.

4.7 million passes could be deactivated in mid-February…

This concerns people: Olivier Véran recalled that 7 million people currently risk losing their vaccination pass on February 15, if they do not take a booster dose. And even taking into account people infected with Omicron, that would still be 4.7 million people, he insisted.

… while waiting for the end of the pass before July?

In addition, when asked about the possible lifting of this pass, necessary to go to cafes and restaurants, or to the cinema, and whose law registers it until next July, the Isérois opened the door to a more early: “The vaccine pass will come to an end, and given the current epidemic dynamics, it is likely that this end will be well before July. Unless there is bad news”.

“When we have emptied the intensive care units, and made room for the patients who normally come under the resuscitation, when there will be no more rescheduled care in our country, and if there are no new variants in circulation at that time, the usefulness of the vaccination pass will be totally debatable. And we can withdraw it, ”he detailed.
