No more part-time jobs for politicians – economy

The transition from a moral to an immoral offer is fluid. Especially in politics. But sometimes the case is also very clear: if a member of parliament has a say in the decision-making process on stricter rules for the financial industry, he/she is not allowed to work for the financial industry at the same time. But that’s exactly what happens again and again. The EU parliamentarian Markus Ferber (CSU) is by no means the only politician who earns a few thousand extra a month with part-time jobs. Anyone who is outraged by this should be told: Ferber is allowed to do this, he abides by the law. The rules only dictate that he makes this ancillary income transparent. The CSU politician fulfills this obligation, you can read the details on his EU homepage. But the mere fact that this law exists at all is problematic.
