Disciplinary law is a thicket. Overgrown, shady, difficult to penetrate, swampy. A person who works as a judge but rants about Muslims as “servants” at an AfD event, for example, finds it easy to hide in this web of paragraphs afterwards. Statutes of limitations creep in everywhere, bans on exploitation proliferate, and old regulations that don’t fit together are rotting away. It often happens like this: The brave pursuers who try to rush after a racist judge here sink into the morass.
