No major problems with gas supply – economy

Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency, sees no problems for the gas supply – if people continue to save gas, the winter is not exceptionally harsh and the pipelines to Norway are not damaged.

The names of those responsible were Cooper and Dieter, Gisela, Julia, Lucina and Olivia. This is what meteorologists called the high and low pressure areas that in the first weeks of 2012 ensured that many European countries experienced the coldest winter in five decades. Rivers froze over, diesel engines failed, and natural gas became scarce in some places. In Germany, too, the thermometer fell to almost minus 30 degrees in some places in February; the average temperature was well below the long-term average despite significantly milder values in the second half of the month.
