No Magsafe: Macbook Pro with 16 inches can charge at 140 watts via USB-C

The new Macbook Pro 16 inch As usual, it can be charged via Magsafe with 140 watts, but charging with a USB-C cable is now also possible.

Until now, the quick charging function could only be used with Magsafe, and the battery can be charged up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes. Magsafe 3 also ensures that the notebook does not become a tripping hazard as it easily separates from the casing when pulled.

However, there is a catch: standard charging cables are not suitable for this. Apple requires the use of a 240-watt cable for this purpose and sells such a cable for 35 euros with a length of two meters.

To enable fast charging with a USB-C cable, a suitable power supply is also required. This can be Apple’s own 140-watt power supply or a similarly powerful third-party power supply.
