Because the text, allegedly resulting from an interview of Jacques Attali with the journalist and doctor Michel Salomon published in his book The future of life, published in 1981, continues: “We will find something or cause it, a pandemic that targets some people, a real economic crisis or not, a virus that will affect the old or the big, it doesn’t matter, the weak will succumb to it. “And to conclude with an allusion to vaccination:” We will have taken care to have planned […] a treatment that will be the solution. The selection of idiots will thus be done by itself: they will go to the slaughterhouse on their own. “
Commenting on the numerous publications repeating – in whole or in part – the words of the former adviser to the President of the Republic, some Internet users denounce a “new world order” set up through the Covid-19 epidemic, aimed at get rid of part of the population.
Except that this long quote from Jacques Attali cannot be found in the pages of Michel Salomon’s book.

Contacted by our colleagues from AFP Factuel, the former adviser denounces a text “totally invented”. If Jacques Attali expressed himself well in the book The future of life, his words have been totally invented in viral publications for a few days. The text reproduced on Facebook is “nothing close to the initial text. It’s like saying that I will have written Mein Kampf “, He denounces to AFP, which confirms that he has not found the extract reproduced on Facebook in the book signed by Michel Salomon. In particular, Jacques Attali never mentioned a “virus” targeting the most vulnerable people.
This is not the first time that this interview published in the book The future of life is the subject of misinformation. Jacques Attali’s words had already been taken out of context from 2009, noted
the “CheckNews” section of Release long before the Covid-19 epidemic. The official was accused, on the basis of truncated sentences, of advocating euthanasia for people over 60 or 65 years old.
The new version published in recent days “is just a delusional extension of the false quotation that I had condemned in defamation in 1983”, even adds Jacques Attali in his response to AFP.
