Nintendo in the seventh year of the Switch with the most nominations • JPGAMES.DE

Geoff Keighley and his team have revealed the nominees for this year’s The Game Awards. A jury from more than 100 media decided on these games – not Geoff Keighley, that’s worth remembering again.

The most nominated publisher is Nintendo with 15 nominations – not bad for the seventh year of the Nintendo Switch, in which many are already excited about the successor console. The most nominations for one game are Baldur’s Gate 3 and Alan Wake 2 with 8 nominations each.

The expected games are nominated for the game of the year, there are no surprises here. Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4 as well as Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom are nominated. Yes, there are a lot of numbers behind the names – as usual.

Dave the Diver from publisher Nexon is nominated for best indie. Cyberpunk 2077 could win as the best “ongoing” game – classifications for this (and more) can be found in a separate article.

You can find all categories and nominees as usual TheGameAwards.com, you can now cast your votes there. The awards will then be presented on December 7th as an adjunct to the big Keighley show in Los Angeles.
