Nina Chuba
Rap newcomer returns with new music
Nina Chuba is back with her new single “Nina”. Klaas Heufer-Umlauf contributes a sporty cameo to the video.
With the new song and the accompanying video The rap newcomer proves that German-language rap and humor definitely go together. As is usual in the genre, “Nina” is also a somewhat pretentious hymn of praise for the singer herself, but it is so exaggerated that the self-irony should not go unnoticed by even the last gangsta rapper.
“I won’t tell you again, remember my name”
To energetic dancehall beats and booming brass sounds, she makes an unmistakable announcement in the first verse: “Hello, hello, I’m at the top here / Highly motivated, I just had to recover for a moment / Whoever said I was out of the window “, lied / Play the first violin, now other strings are put on”. In the catchy chorus, she ensures that no one will be able to get the song and her name out of their head so quickly. It says: “Who’s back? (Nina, Nina, Nina) / Who makes dreams come true? (Nina, Nina, Nina) / Who doesn’t have to save anymore? (Nina, Nina, Nina) / I’ll tell you not again, remember, remember my name.”
“Ninalympic Games” in the video for the new single
The Berlin native has put a lot of work not only into the comeback hit, but also into the video for the brand new song in order to delight her fans with unbridled energy. In it, she presents herself like a celebrated high-performance rap athlete, starts stylish races with herself in a large stadium and is presented with golden trophies at an over-the-top press conference.
Support from Klaas Heufer-Umlauf
Her friend Klaas Heufer-Umlauf (40), with whom the singer already dated last year a weird “Gen Z crime scene” for his show “Late Night Berlin”, appears in the clip with a cameo appearance as a sports presenter. In the “Ninalympics” studio, wearing a black training suit, he asks the rhetorical question “Who do you think deserves the top position on the podium?” to the audience. Nina Chuba then answers this question herself immediately and accurately: “Nina, Nina, Nina”.
