Monday, June 26, artists, writers, animators or even movie stars met at the restaurant Les Deux Magots, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, for yet another literary café. In this famous brasserie, it’s (almost) a day like any other. Here, we are used to receiving artists and intellectuals from all over the world.
That evening, Les Deux Magots rolled out the red carpet for special occasions. At the entrance, the hosts get down to sorting out the guests whose names are intertwined over a dozen pages. For their part, singer and orchestra have the heavy task of punctuating the evening under the benevolent gaze of certain guests, ready to put down their cups to applaud them. It is a little after 7:30 p.m. when, finally, the silhouettes of the artists emerge.
Relaxed atmosphere for a literary evening
At the microphone, the host of the day Carole Fernandez, launches the autograph session. For an hour, guests will be able to discuss with Nikos Aliagas – who has come to present his works “Paris” and have his photographic book “Le Spleen d’Ulysse” signed – or Guillaume de Tonquédec – literary selection of the summer with “Les Portes de my imagination”.
