Night shifts for parents in the Bundestag: children have to stay outside – culture

Nobody should say that the German Bundestag does not care about family-friendly working conditions. A lot has already happened there, at least on our own behalf. During the weeks of meetings, the in-house day-care center stays open half an hour longer than usual, i.e. until 6.30 p.m. And in the Reichstag building, very close to the plenary hall, the Bundestag administration has set up a “play, nursing and changing room” in which, as the administration says, children “can” be looked after. A small catch: “The MPs organize the care of the children there themselves.”
