There was a police operation in the city center of Nienburg on Holy Saturday due to a threatening situation. It ended with one dead and one police officer shot down.

During a police operation in the city center of A 46-year-old man was fatally injured in Nienburg in Lower Saxony. A policewoman was shot. There was a “threat situation,” said a police spokeswoman. The man is said to have been armed with a knife. A major police operation then began on Saturday morning.

Nienburg: Policewoman shot in clinic

The policewoman who was shot was taken to a clinic in a rescue helicopter. There was initially no information about the severity of their injuries. A police service dog was also injured.

The circumstances of the operation were initially unclear. Eyewitnesses reported several shots to the newspaper “Die Harke”. The “Bild” reported that the man threatened with a knife and rioted in an apartment building.
