After 45 years on the big screen, Nicolas Cage is apparently thinking about saying goodbye. However, he doesn’t want to give up acting.

Hollywood star Nicolas Cage (59) is apparently thinking about ending his career on the big screen and saying “adios” to making films. The actor now has some farewell thoughts about his previous career in a new interview with the online portal “Uproxx” on the occasion of his new film “Dream Scenario”. “I feel like at this point – after 45 years of making over 100 films – I’ve said pretty much everything I had to say in the cinema. And I’d like to leave feeling good and.” Say adios,” explains Cage in an interview.

Series projects like “Breaking Bad” appeal to Nicolas Cage

But in the same breath he rules out a complete withdrawal from the acting business: “I think I have to do three or four more films before I can achieve that and hopefully I can change the format and find a different way to express my acting skills.” He would actually have liked to say goodbye with a project like “Dream Scenario”, but he still has other contracts that he has to fulfill, Cage indicates. But he wants to be very strict when selecting his projects in the future.

Above all, he became interested in television series, explains Cage: “I saw what you can do today with characters and with the time you give them to express themselves. I saw Bryan Cranston stared at a suitcase for an hour in an episode of Breaking Bad. We don’t have time for that in a feature film, so maybe TV is the next step for me.”

Nicolas Cage wants more time for his family

The fact that he is interested in filming a more long-term format is also due to his age, explains Nicolas Cage. He wants to spend time with his family. “I’ll be 60 next month and my father died at 75, so if I’m lucky I’ll have more years than him, but I don’t know. […] What is important are my children, I have a small daughter. If I can find a series that’s filmed in a place where I don’t have to go all the time, we could all be together.”
