Nicola Winter wants to go into space: “The plane doesn’t care how cool you are” – Economy

Nicola Winter was a Eurofighter pilot and McKinsey consultant. Now she wants to go into space – despite her fear of heights. What she’s up to there, why she finds big egos dangerous and what her first words would be on the moon.

Nicola Winter wanted to meet right here, in the Glyptothek café in Munich, at 10 a.m. The gates of Munich’s oldest museum are just opening, school classes are rushing in and through the corridors. It’s loud and hectic. It’s completely different in the inner courtyard, where the birds are chirping and Nicola Winter quickly drinks half a bottle of Almdudler. The 38-year-old was one of Germany’s first three Eurofighter pilots, and now she wants to be the first German woman to fly into space – preferably to the moon.
