“NGOs are mobilizing so that the many lobbyists, in the fossil fuel sector in particular, are no longer accepted”

Hello Axa,
Yes and it must! Even if there is little time left, even if progress is slow, it is still possible to get back on track with the Paris climate agreement. And we have the solutions to do so, put forward in particular in the IPCC report: stopping the exploitation of all fossil fuels, investing massively in renewable energies, supporting agroecology… What is needed is that States have the political courage to implement them, that is in particular why we are here, to recall the warnings of scientists and push governments to act at national level, but also to pay their climate debt towards the countries most vulnerable. This work is very visible at the time of the COP, but of course we continue it throughout the year, from Paris.

What allows us to have hope is also the citizen mobilizations for the climate, all over the world, but also the struggles at the local level against projects that destroy ecosystems, artificialize the soil… The strength of citizen power should not be underestimated.
