There has been a lot of discussion about cultural appropriation in recent years, and a question that still urgently needs to be clarified in the local context would be why German Sophies and Tommis actually think it’s cool to do one in Italian? The new show by Sophie Passmann and Tommi Schmidt – a talk show for ZDF Neo – is called Neo Neo Ragazzi and features an abstract Aperol spritz orange in the logo. Like the ironic German Italo-retro hype in general, it has as much to do with Dolce Vita as Detmold has to do with Naples.
