New televisions: highlights of the CES technology trade fair – large, transparent, bright

Traditionally, the beginning of January is when the technology industry meets at the Consumer Electronics Show, or CES for short, to set the trends of the year. Every year, especially in the TV sector, manufacturers use the opportunity to set the direction for the coming year. In the photo gallery you will find the highlights of the TV performances.

TV trends 2024: Transparent and detailed

Two trends in particular can be observed this year. On the one hand, there are transparent devices. With its Signature OLED T, LG has brought the technology from the experimental phase into series production. The group is the first manufacturer to offer a completely transparent TV set. Samsung is now upping the ante: it has built the first transparent MicroLED television. This brings us to the second major trend: more and more manufacturers are offering models with mini or microLED displays. Despite the same name, there are completely different technologies behind it: MiniLED is an improved backlight for LED screens, while MicroLED, like OLED, uses its own, self-illuminating diode for each pixel.
