New SZ podcast “Munich personally”, episode 1 with Katrin habenschaden – Munich

Why does the green mayor Katrin habenschaden actually live in Aubing? Because the rents there are affordable – or are there other reasons? What does she think when she takes the S-Bahn past the parcel post hall, where two high-rise buildings are to be built, about which there is already a heated argument? What does Katrin Habenschaden’s ideal day in Munich look like when she wants to relax from her political work in the town hall? Does she have a very secret favorite place?

That and much more is what the first episode of the new podcast is about Süddeutsche Zeitung. “Munich in person”, the podcast by the Munich editorial team, takes you across the city. Ulrike Heidenreich and René Hofmann, the heads of the Munich, Region and Bavaria departments, as well as Leute editor Sabine Buchwald pick up their guests at their place of residence or their place of work. With the tram, the bus, the subway or S-Bahn, sometimes also with the cycle rickshaw, they travel their personal route with interesting personalities.

Each guest chooses their own route, passing construction projects, historical sites, special places with memories. It’s about current projects and very personal plans, about topics that move the city. About your favorite book, your favorite restaurant, your favorite club. The SZ podcast team invites people who have a connection to Munich. You live in the city or you are visiting. They come from the fields of politics, gastronomy, culture, sports or media.

Munich’s mayor Katrin Habenschaden, the director of the Residenztheater Andreas Beck, restaurateur and campsite operator Sandra Dürr and Wolfgang Fischer, head of the city-centre business association City-Partner, who can explain exactly how things are with the big and small shops in the heart of the city. A new episode comes out every two weeks.
