Ahead of the Queen’s death anniversary, a poll found which royal Britons value most. Charles is not at the top.

Prince William (41) is the most popular member of the royal family. That’s according to a new survey in the UK. The survey by the polling institute YouGov found that 74 percent of people in the UK rate the Prince of Wales positively – the heir to the throne leaves all other royals behind. The poll was conducted to gauge Brits’ attitudes towards the monarchy ahead of the first anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s (1926-2022) death on September 8th.

Princess Anne is also very popular

In second place in the new popularity ranking is Princess Anne (73), the sister of King Charles III. (74). She is considered the hardest working member of the royal family. The survey shows that 73 per cent of Brits have a positive opinion of them. Just behind is Williams’ wife, Princess Kate (41), with 72 percent.

King Charles is in fourth place with 60 percent, followed by his youngest brother Prince Edward (59), who takes fifth place with 54 percent. According to the survey, Queen Camilla (76) is only viewed positively by 47 percent of the public. Behind her is Prince Harry, 38, who has migrated to the United States, with 31 percent – with YouGov pointing out that he once received similar positive reviews as his older brother William.

Harry’s wife, Duchess Meghan (42), comes in at the bottom with 24 percent and Prince Andrew (63), who fell out of favor due to the Epstein scandal. He is seen positively by only six percent of the public.

Majority of Britons are pro-monarchy

The poll also revealed that 62 percent of Britons believe the UK should continue to have a monarchy. However, according to YouGov, it is different for younger Brits. Currently, just 37 percent of 18-24 year olds want Britain to remain a monarchy.
