The Aschheim municipal council is pushing ahead with plans to build a new school campus with an expanded secondary school, grammar school, cafeteria and triple gymnasium including a school swimming pool. The development plan for the 4.9 hectare site was unanimously launched at the most recent meeting. According to the city hall administration, the decision on the installation primarily defines the area of application and initiates the development plan procedure. As soon as a specific development plan has been drawn up, it is presented to the building committee.
There is already a preliminary plan for the connection of the new grammar school, which was presented to the committee. The plan is to extend Ludwig-Thoma-Straße to Ludwig-Ganghofer-Straße by 350 meters with a width between 12.5 and 21.3 meters. The entire conversion or expansion area extends to 6000 square meters. The street is designed as a one-way street in a north-south direction. This could prevent a busy thoroughfare from developing here, said Mayor Thomas Glashauser (CSU). The cycle and footpaths along the extension of Ludwig-Thoma-Straße will be designed separately to the east and west of the street in order to avoid collisions between cyclists and pedestrians, especially in the bus stop area.
The cycle path is passable in both directions and should allow a quick passage south to the Heimstettener See. The construction of the road, including fencing, planting, lighting and signage, costs an estimated 1.1 million euros. Aschheim has to spend another 171,000 euros for the preparatory earthworks for the archaeological investigation.
