The states of Berlin and Brandenburg are sticking with the passages on the regional program in the planned state broadcasting treaty for the RBB, which the broadcaster is resisting: Mandatory regional studios in Frankfurt/Oder, Cottbus, Prenzlau and Perleberg as well as a regional office in Brandenburg an der Havel for West Brandenburg, as well as 60 instead of 30 minutes of regional television programs separately for Berlin and Brandenburg, and a head of the state programs who are elected by the Broadcasting Council. “The RBB is a broadcaster that has become increasingly distant from Brandenburg,” said Brandenburg’s Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke, SPD, on Friday when presenting the legal text passed together with Berlin’s Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, CDU.
