New psychiatric expertise for Nicolas Zepeda

The Narumi Kurosaki affair is far from over. Sentenced at first instance to 28 years in prison for his assassination in 2016, Chilean Nicolas Zepeda will soon be judged on appeal. His trial is scheduled to take place from December 4 to 20, in Vesoul (Haute-Saône).

In the meantime, he was the subject of a new psychiatric assessment, his lawyer Renaud Portejoie said on Thursday, confirming information from The Republican East. This expertise took place on Monday at the Orléans-Saran remand center and the expert’s conclusions will be included in the file.

Narumi’s body never found

Narumi Kurosaki, a 21-year-old Japanese student, met the accused when they were studying in Japan. Arriving in Besançon in the summer of 2016 to learn French, she then broke up with him.

Without warning her, the spurned lover found her in Besançon and spent the night of December 4 to 5, 2016 with her. The young woman has since disappeared. His body has never been found.

Nicolas Zepeda’s appeal trial should have been held last February but the accused rejected his lawyer at the last moment, which led to the trial being postponed until December.
