New parking spaces for taxis north of the main train station – Munich

The taxi stand south of the main train station on Bayerstraße has no longer been available since last week. Deutsche Bahn (DB) needs this area for construction work on the second S-Bahn main line. The mobility department, in coordination with Taxi München eG, the DB and the police, has now designated replacement space on Lämmerstrasse north of the main train station at short notice. The 18 additional spaces serve as replacement spaces for the current taxi rank on Pfefferstrasse. The taxi rank, which can be found north of the main train station, can be reached from the main train station via the “Arnulfstrasse” exit.

After taxis had to move away from Bahnhofplatz more than four years ago, up to 36 parking spaces have now been lost on the busy south side. The taxi cooperative had known for a long time that the parking spaces would no longer be available at some point due to the construction work at the main train station. The short-term termination announced in November still came as a surprise to the taxi drivers. The cooperative sees a much higher need for parking spaces in the area around the main train station. But at the moment there is apparently not enough space for that.
