The internet is slow in the Olympia press city where Christine Strobl lives. Too slow for a video call, so it’s better to switch to the phone. The poor network also makes it difficult for her to do voluntary work, says Strobl. For example, as a member of the commission, she supports the clarification of cases of abuse in homes. Almost two years ago, the former SPD mayor retired from politics. This week, the city council elected the 60-year-old as an honorary citizen of Munich.
