A new “Jurassic World” film is in the works. Now the film studio has also announced when it will be released in cinemas.

The new, as yet unnamed “Jurassic World” film has an official release date. The franchise’s Instagram account shared the iconic T-Rex logo and added a date: July 2, 2025. No other information about the next dinosaur blockbuster was shared beyond that.

In January, the US industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” but it has already been reported that some of those originally responsible for the new film are returning. David Koepp (60), who wrote the scripts for the original film “Jurassic Park” (1993) and the sequel “Forgotten World: Jurassic Park” (1997) – based on the books by Michael Crichton (1942-2008) – will be also write the script of the upcoming adventure.

Steven Spielberg is back

Steven Spielberg (77), who directed the first two films, is set to return as executive producer for the project. Meanwhile, “Bullet Train” filmmaker David Leitch (48) is said to be in discussion as director for the new film, as Variety reported. The new project was also explicitly announced as part of “Jurassic World” and not “Jurassic Park”.

After three “Jurassic Park” installments (1993, 1997, 2001), the series expanded. The 2015 reboot “Jurassic World” was more successful than the original. After “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” (2018), “Jurassic World: A New Age” came in 2022 and brought together the stars of both trilogies.

The original cast included Sam Neill (76) as paleontologist Alan Grant, Laura Dern (56) as his colleague Ellie Satler, Samuel L. Jackson (75) as park engineer Ray Arnold and Jeff Goldblum (71) as mathematician Ian Malcolm. In “A New Age,” actors who later joined the franchise, such as Chris Pratt (44) and Bryce Dallas Howard (42), met Neill, Dern and Goldblum.
