The Suzuki Swift is something for connoisseurs who are not looking for an off-the-shelf small car. The Japanese small car has always been a little different, cooler and more fun than others. It offered design and contemporary technology at a fair price. Now the new generation is coming with technology that is all too home-grown.

The fourth model generation has retained its character and proportions. The coming one works Thanks to the optional contrast roof, Swift is less stocky and sporty, but rather a little higher and stockier than before. Those interested have no choice when it comes to the drive, because apart from a 1.2 liter three-cylinder petrol engine with mild hybrid technology, no alternative will be offered at the market launch next spring. The engine output is manageable at 61 kW / 82 hp and a maximum torque of 112 hp, as the engine has direct injection but does not have turbocharging. For the 3.86 meter long front-wheel drive car, the customer has the choice between a manual five-speed gearbox or a continuously variable automatic transmission, although the manual switch can also be ordered as an all-wheel drive option.

The standard consumption of the front-wheel drive car, which weighs almost 1.1 tons, is between 4.6 and 4.9 liters per 100 kilometers. Depending on the model, the top speed is between 160 and 170 km/h, with the loading volume being between 265 and 980 liters depending on the position of the rear seats. The space inside the five-door model is largely unchanged compared to the three previous generations, which were sold a total of nine million times. However, the cockpit has been redesigned, which still uses analogue round instruments, but at least in the middle of the dashboard has a nine-inch touch display that can be used to operate comfort functions, navigation or the sound system. New are assistants for lane keeping, blind spots, traffic sign recognition, reverse traffic and adaptive cruise control.
