Citroen is redesigning its popular e-Berlingo family van. In addition to a slightly different look, there is particularly more range for the electric version.

The new front makes the Berlingo a little more modern and contemporary in design Citroen design language appears. The standard equipment, infotainment and a new battery pack have also been upgraded to ensure that the 50 kWh battery is now sufficient for up to 320 kilometers before the family van from France has to go back to the charging station. The great strength, however, remains the variability, because the van is in a class of its own. The new dashboard includes a ten-inch touchscreen display, as well as a large additional glove compartment, which is made possible by installing the passenger airbag in the roof. In addition to a storage compartment that can be used for inductive charging of smartphones, the Citroen Berlingo is equipped with two additional USB ports.

The new Berlingo is still available in two lengths of 4.40 and 4.75 meters. The individual seats in the rear can either be moved or folded down, with the long version optionally offering up to seven seats. With the passenger seat folded down, there is a maximum loading length of 2.70 or 3.05 meters for transporting long items. The Citroen Berlingo has a total of 27 storage compartments with a total volume of up to 186 liters. Depending on the position of the seats, the loading volume is between 775 and 4,000 liters.

Unlike other models in the Stellantis Group, the Citroen e-Berlingo does not have a more powerful electric motor with 115 kW / 156 hp. Although it gets the new battery pack with the increased range, it is still powered by the familiar electric motor on the front axle with 100 kW / 136 HP. The driver can positively influence the Frenchman’s maximum range using the regenerative braking system by varying this in three stages in addition to the individual driving modes using new paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. The e-Berlingo is equipped with a 7.4 kW on-board charger, which can optionally be increased to a three-phase charger with eleven kilowatts and a heat pump. This shortens the charging time from 7.5 to five hours. However, even after the revision, a fast charging station still maintains the tired maximum charging speed of 100 kW.
