New health rules, Omicron meeting in Matignon and more football incidents

Did you miss the news from the start of the morning? We have concocted a recap to help you see more clearly.

This Monday January 3 marks the day of the start of the school year but also that of the introduction of many new health rules. The extremely rapid evolution of the Omicron variant is indeed pushing the government to take new measures to try to curb its spread without putting the country in slow motion. They concern both the duration of the quarantine, which will be reduced, as well as the health protocol at school or even teleworking. To help you find your way around, 20 minutes summarizes all of these new rules for you.

The years go by and start to look the same for the executive. Unsurprisingly, 2022 will begin in Matignon with a new meeting on the health crisis. Jean Castex will meet this Monday at 4:10 pm of his ministers “in order to take stock of the impact of the Omicron variant and the continuity of essential public services”. The ministers of Health Olivier Véran, of the Economy Bruno Le Maire, of the Interior Gérald Darmanin, of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer, of Labor Elisabeth Borne, of the Armies Florence Parly, of the Civil Service Amélie de Montchalin, of the Ecological Transition Barbara Pompili, of Transports Jean-Baptiste Djebbari and the government spokesperson Gabriel Attal will be present around the Prime Minister.

The recent sanctions, in particular against Olympique Lyonnais, seem not to have prompted some supporters to make good resolutions for 2022. The Sunday evening Coupe de France match between Jura Sud and ASSE was interrupted after a few minutes in due to the jets of smoke and fireworks from the Stéphanoise stand. A thick layer of smoke fell on the lawn and a projectile seemed to interfere with the Jura Sud goalkeeper, forcing the referee to ask the 22 players to return to the locker room. The match finally resumed after twenty minutes to end with the victory of Saint-Etienne 4-1.
