An accident occurred during production of Eddie Murphy’s new film. Several crew members are said to have been injured.
During the filming of the comedy “The Pickup” with a Hollywood star Eddie Murphy (63, “Beverly Hills Cop”) in the lead role, there has apparently been an accident. Several crew members are said to have been injured during an action scene on the set in Atlanta.
The cause of the accident is not yet known
A spokesperson for Amazon MGM Studios confirmed “Entertainment Weekly”, that there was an incident on the set of “The Pickup” during a rehearsed action scene on April 20th. “Unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned and several members of the crew were injured. We are still in the process of gathering the facts about what happened and why,” but first and foremost our thoughts are with those affected, the statement said .
The statement continued that “the well-being of the entire crew and cast is our top priority and we will continue to insist on the highest safety standards during filming.” The studio added, “All safety precautions were reviewed prior to filming and monitored during filming,” according to Entertainment Weekly.
Eva Longoria is also said to be there
In the film “The Pickup”, directed by Tim Story (54, “Fantastic Four”) from a script by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, Eddie Murphy and Keke Palmer (30) play the main roles. Comedian Pete Davidson (30), “Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria (49) or Andrew Dice Clay (66) and Marshawn Lynch (38) are also expected to star in the comedy. Production on the film is scheduled to run until June.
As the US industry portal “Deadline” reported, Amazon MGM won a bidding war for the film last year. The film is about a man (Murphy) who gets involved in a robbery while trying to find a woman.
