New discomfort on stage by Pierre Arditi, the play canceled Friday

The actor Pierre Arditi, starring in the play “Rabbit”, felt new discomfort on stage Friday evening, leading to the cancellation of the play, his entourage indicated, counting on a return to the stage on Saturday.

“Pierre Arditi felt slightly uncomfortable on stage again. The performance was canceled. He was taken care of by the doctors but will be able to play again tomorrow,” the press officer for the play and the Édouard VII theater, where “Rabbit” by Samuel Benchétrit is being performed, told AFP.

The discomfort occurred about 25 minutes after the actor, who plays in this play alongside Muriel Robin, entered the stage.

Resting in October

On September 27, the 79-year-old actor who has a parallel career in theater, television and cinema, felt unwell on stage, leading to brief hospitalization. Some spectators had thought that it was an element of the play which mixes truth and falsehood, and looks at the moods of two actors, one evening off.

Pierre Arditi was then placed on rest and returned to the stage at the beginning of October, before canceling further performances due to fatigue. The piece was finally resumed ten days later.

“I had vagal discomfort and hypoglycemia. No longer being a partridge of the year, unfortunately, I have to admit that I am no longer a young man and that therefore, I have to be a little more careful…”, confided the actor at the beginning of November on the set of “C à vous”.

Known for his roles as spicy seducers, Pierre Arditi has collaborated extensively for the big screen with directors Alain Resnais and Claude Lelouch.
