New company car for Munich’s mayor: three-ton monster with an electric drive – Munich

The Lord Mayor has a new service limousine – with a better climate balance. The German Environmental Aid is still wondering, “why do you need such a large vehicle if you only drive in the city?”

With the huge, widened radiator grille and the longitudinal grilles, the already beefy company car of Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) is reminiscent of a snarling monster – always ready to devour everything that doesn’t get out of the way in time, to digest it and excrete the leftovers. Luckily the car just purrs like a kitten and it’s not blowing any pollutants out of the exhaust either. Because Dieter Reiter has recently been chauffeured in a BMW i7 sedan – list price according to the manufacturer from 115,700 euros, monthly leasing rate for commercial customers from 1499 euros, top speed just over 200 km/h. But above all: fully electric drive. In the case of Reiter’s model with a continuous output of 135 kw (or 184 hp).
